Every city we've gone to, we always end up at a place like this. I'm not even sure whether any of them have been covered in the blog or not. Regardless, (thanks, nadaword!), this entry can stand in for all such trips.
Sure, it was interesting to see how jade and lacquer pieces are made, how carpets are woven, how their fake terra cotta warriors are fired, etc, etc. For some reason, our guides are always vehement that these places are important/great deals/very interesting... I think the government may require that guides bring tourists to them.
Still, from here on out, being herded through another overpriced warehouse of mid-quality (at best) stuff, and plenty of standard shlock, well, we're done with that. We did not buy anything, we moved through pretty quickly, and they were not thrilled with us.
